So, I thought my sister was making this up. We were in the car and she told me about this ad someone had posted on her Facebook wall for “Pajama Jeans” and that she wanted a pair. She even watched a video.
Pajama Jeans? Seriously?
Now I’ve seen Jeggings. Yes, Jean-Leggings. I’ve seen them online, at Target, and various other stores. Apparently they exist
because Skinny Jeans are just not tight enough anymore, so bring out the JEGGINGS! If you Google them, you can find them at Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s as well. I guess I can see the point of these – Skinny jeans can be uncomfortable and it’s often hard to find a pair (especially for us Fatshionistas!) that fit in the waist and thighs at once. I find that if I get jeans that fit in the waist, then the rest of them are baggy – I’ve tried on countless pairs of GAP skinny jeans, and in my size, they assume your ankles and calves are ENORMOUS, so I get more of a straight leg fit out of them. I’m rambling…
So, Pajama Jeans. According to the website the jeans are made of “Dormisoft” fabric – which is soft and stretchy. They don’t stretch out, they won’t bind and tug like jeans, they are low-rise, boot-cut with 5-pocket detail and brass rivets. Well, there are a few things wrong with these already.
1. Low-Rise jeans suck – they don’t look good on most people.
2. Boot-Cut – Yes, boot-cut jeans can be flattering…but I myself, despise bootcut. And there are no other options – so you are stuck with it.
3. THEY ARE PAJAMA JEANS!
Has American gotten SO LAZY, that we can’t even get DRESSED in the morning? They even state that the Pajama Jeans are better than SWEATPANTS because they don’t wrinkle. WHO WEARS SWEATPANTS OUT OF THE HOUSE? I’ll admit, on a late-night trip to Wal-Mart for dog food, I’ve worn sweatpants with my Uggs. (Yes, I have uggs, there is a WHOLE other blog entry about that coming up…) but they were GAP cropped sweatpants that tied at the calf. And it’s WAL-MART – I mean really, I probably outdressed everyone else. But rolling out of bed in my pajama jeans and going to work…not really something I support fashion-wise. A blogger for StyleList wore them for 72 hrs straight to Fashion Week and claimed she even got complimented on them by the likes of Isaac Mizrahi and Sarah Jessica Parker.
Well clearly, they are idiots.
Oh and get this, they are $40. I could spend $40 on so many other FASHIONABLE items…and even a pair of jeans.
What do you think of Pajama Jeans?
